What does a country that needs reconstruction need? Production of building materials seems the obvious answer. Investment is already moving in that direction. Yana Kiparenko, who has been working with SURET for several years and has numerous relationships with Ukrainian circles, gives some facts.
City One Development is planning to build new glass production facilities. The group plans to build two glass plants. The first is a €135 million “City of Glass” project in Berezan, Kyiv region. The planned capacity of the plant is 600 tons per day. The second line – for the production of transparent and architectural glass – will be built in the west of the country. Last year, the group took over the management of an industrial park in this part of the country and started the construction project.
NovaSklo will build Ukraine’s first flat glass plant in Kyiv region by 2028. The project is valued at 240 million euros. NovaSklo is a project of the Ukrainian investment company EFI Group.
Oberbeton will invest $26 million in a plant producing reinforced concrete structures in the Ternopil region. In the Mikulinets municipality, the foreign investor is beginning the design of a plant to produce large-scale reinforced concrete structures. A visualization of the production halls themselves and partially of the production technology has been made. Representatives of the investor have made relevant guarantees regarding environmental safety and compliance with other legal standards, and have presented the most modern equipment that will be used for this production.Soon an investment memorandum will be signed and preparatory and construction work will begin on the investment site.
In my opinion, it should be emphasized that, unlike others, Oberbeton is currently the only company in the market that has not stopped at presenting ideas, but has already moved on to their implementation. Maybe even this initiative will become a kind of platform to attract strategic investment in the development of the country’s industry during the war.
In general, it is apparent that Ukraine is now actively developing the manufacturing industry and is set to significantly increase its share of GDP in the coming years. One of the branches of this industry is precisely glass production. At the same time, glass production is one of the most complex industries and is also associated with orgomny risks. This makes it necessary to approach the choice of technologies and partners carefully. Perhaps that is why they overwhelmingly choose German technology and equipment from HORN Glass Industries and involve international experts. Yana Kiparenko.
