The visit of a delegation from the Podkarpackie local government and entrepreneurs at the invitation of the authorities of the Italian region of Abruzzo, with the participation of the Eastern Automotive Alliance, which brings together companies from southern Poland, was aimed at strengthening good relations between the regions and building new ones in the field of industry and business in both countries. SURET was represented by its CEO and partner Sebastian M. Gawron and Konrad Kosiorowski, project manager.
The first day of the Podkarpacie delegation’s visit to Abruzzo was official in nature. It began with a meeting with the authorities of the Abruzzo Region at their headquarters in Piazza Unione in Pescara. The talks on the Italian side were chaired by Tiziana Magnacca, a member of the regional executive, while the provincial government was represented by Marshal Władysław Ortyl.
For our representatives, Director Sebastian Gawron and Konrad Kosiorowski, the next few days promised to be very interesting. One of the items on SURET’s agenda during its visit to Abruzzo was a meeting with representatives of the NSG Group at their Pilkington Automotive Italy S.p.A plant in San Salvo. It should be emphasised that the meeting had a very positive energy. All the more so because SURET knows the brand well – it has been working for the NSG Group since 2001, and since 2003 it has been relocating and installing its production lines in Poland, the United Kingdom, Spain, Norway, Finland, India, Malaysia, Mexico and now also in Italy. Among the numerous projects for NSG Group, SURET is particularly proud of the complete installation of the production plant in Chmielów (Poland), where the scope of work, degree of complexity and schedule posed a real challenge.
A conversation with Ezio Scifo, general manager of the San Salvo plant, is a recollection of shared experiences and challenges during years of cooperation, an exchange of views and assessments of the situation in the industry, and plans for the future. ‘We have known each other for so long that this visit was both professional and very friendly for me. After all, San Salvo belongs to the large Pilkington family, whose members we have got to know over the years at other plants on four continents,’ said Sebastian Gawron.
The delegation also visited Honda Italia Industriale, DENSO Manufacturing Italy and the modern B-R centre, among others. Visits to plants with a production profile familiar to SURETOWI provided an opportunity for lively and substantive discussions, as well as the exchange of practical information and experiences.
The positive atmosphere of these talks encouraged guests and hosts to continue their contacts. Further meetings between SURET and companies from the Abruzzo region have already taken place.
